“He placed me in the area to help this boy.” This is what Lee Callaham, Assistant Chief, New England had sighed the time when he was once tested by the nature of the work he is in – Fire Fighter in profession. As what he shared in the world of fire fighters’, he was working with his landscaping field, when the fire incident happened on that same area, where he was on his job a teen boy was trapped in his on flame house and emanating heat on the area. That was a right timing for him to be there not to have another job in landscaping, but to render a severe service as a firefighter- to help people in times on fire. His presence in that area, made the incident solved immediately. To make the story short, Lee had helped and rescued the boy from the gateway of death, though the boy was really on the pick of death with the serious fire in the house of flame.

What makes this service in line with the dedication as the first pillar or edge of a Maltese Cross logo of fire fighter? It is the every service-oriented by Mr. Lee Callaham, which makes this a relevance to the field he is in. It is not easy to be in this field, because like those other professions, this also calls regardless of the time, place and incidents. The great thing in this citation or story is that, as a fire fighter, Mr. Lee portrayed the true dedication to his service and the passion of making his oath as one, to be ready to stretch out his hand to make the involved safe with all of his might and can do. He even added that the time when he saved the boy, it is not an accident or just a luck, but really a providence of God to have the boy saved. This is as well as proof of how a firefighter a prayerful and a great believer as well to the Almighty, which we all know will make him function as one accordingly.

Dedication, as one of what the fire fighters innately and obliged to live with, in the profession they have is really in great help to all of us in the community. Maltese cross is really that symbolic and that helpful to make every fire fighter we have not only New England, but of course to all through out the world.
